There are many reasons why one may want to create their own Fleshlight. Maybe you are far from home and you didn’t bring your favorite Fleshlight with you.

It could be that funds are low and you can’t afford a Fleshlight, but don’t want to continue using your right hand…

DIY Fleshlights

Time to break down some ingenious inventions that are guaranteed to improve your tug-time tenfold; not only are they cheap and easy to make – you’ll also have a blast making them!

While these homemade Fleshlights won’t replicate the exact feeling of Fleshlight’s amazing Superskin sleeves with its variety of texture, they are inexpensive, cheap, smaller, and easier to travel with.

Homemade sex toys are a cheap and simple alternative that can be fun to make, interesting to use, and much cheaper than a Fleshlight. In this article, I’m going to go over six different options for DIY Fleshilghts and how they compare to the real Fleshlight. Of course, none of them compare to the real thing, but we are trying to find the closest to a real Fleshlight, not a real person.

Making a Pocket-Pussy With Household Items

Considering that you’re all valued members of the illustrious tug club, I’ll let you in on some of my insider knowledge for creating your very own Fleshlight using simple items you’d find around the house!

While I have an extensive collection of real Fleshlights and love using them, I am always excited to try something new. So, of course, this project to find the best alternatives and thoroughly test them was almost as exciting as open a new Fleshlight! I also compared them to my favorite Fleshlight sleeves just to see how they measure up and give you a better idea of what these alternatives feel like.

Before we begin, there are a few things you’re going to need to make these homemade pocket pussies.

When I was searching for the best of the best, I came across tons of videos detailing how to make DIY sex toys. Finding the best DIY Fleshlight alternatives among these was a task that I didn’t take lightly. I wanted to find homemade masturbators that could be put together quickly with common household items.

I spent more time than I care to admit browsing YouTube videos and selected only the ones that seemed to fit my criteria. After selecting the videos, I scrounged my house to see what I had on hand and went shopping for what I didn’t.

Since most of these use the same items, I got off pretty cheap. I only had to get gloves, rubber bands, new sponges (because I was NOT taking the one out of my sink for this), a Pringles can, and balloons.

I spent less than $10 and got 6 new homemade Fleshlights!

I created every DIY sex toy video I had pulled up, tried them out, and shared only the most elegant masturbatory masterpieces I found here.

Below, I’ll share the results of only the most interesting and enjoyable out of the ones I tried.

Before we get started, if you have never tried a Fleshlight, I highly recommend browsing my reviews and checking out my list of the Most Realistic Fleshlights currently on the market. You should also check out Tugbro’s list of How & Where to Buy a Fleshlight.

Let’s quickly go through 2 tips to keep in mind while creating your DIY Fleshlight.

Tip #1: Using a high-quality lube with the homemade masturbation devices described here (or any sex toy, for that matter) will provide you with the best experience. Sliquid Sassy is my favorite, but LoveHoney offers a wide variety of lubes that will enhance your masturbatory experience.

Tip #2: Many of these DIY Fleshlights require the use of a latex glove. These are usually stored next to the detergents in the housekeeping aisle in most grocery stores. While they are the most easily available, they don’t provide deep penetration and often tear, making a mess. I recommend getting a dentist’s XL glove because they are more durable. Or using an XL condom in place of the glove, it will provide deeper penetration and are much softer than the gloves.

If you are allergic to latex, I recommend using non-latex condoms, as non-latex gloves tear worse than their cheap, latex alternative.

DIY Homemade Fleshlight #1 and #2: The Towel Methods

With just three common household items, towel masturbators are among the easiest to make.

When a DIY masturbator is made with towels or socks they are called “Fifi’s“. Fifi is a slang term that comes from prison inmates who used these DIY options to make hands-free masturbation devices while incarcerated.

Required Items:

A single small, hand towel

One latex glove

One rubber band

Version 1 – Folded Towel Masturbator

Taking only a few moments to put together and just three items, this is the simplest of all DIY masturbators.

Directions:

  1. Fold the towel long ways twice, to create a narrow shape.
  2. Lay the latex glove (or XL condom) with the open end hanging over the end of the towel.
  3. Fold the towel/sock in half, short ways, over the glove (or XL condom).
  4. Stretch the end of the glove or condom around the end of the towel.
  5. Secure the entire thing with a rubber band. You can add more rubber bands around the length of the towel for added tightness.
  6. Your finished product should be a tight, easy-to-clean hole.
  7. All that’s left to do is lube up with a quality lubricant and enjoy yourself!

Version 2 – Rolled Towel Masturbator

In this version, we will roll the towel rather than fold it. You use the same times listed above, with the addition of a toothpaste tube or something similar in size to help maintain the shape of the canal while rolling the towel.

Directions:

  1. As with the first step for the first Fifi, fold the towel in half lengthwise, but this time we are only folding it once.
  2. With the toothpaste tube inside the glove or condom, place it across the width of the towel, with the open end hanging off.
  3. Begin rolling the towel, widthwise, around the glove and tube.
  4. After a roll or two, you can pull the opening of the glove or condom over the end of the towel to hold it in place.
  5. Continue to roll until you reach the end.
  6. Remove the toothpaste tube and secure the roll with a couple of rubber bands.
  7. Again, you can add more rubber bands for a tighter roll and use lube to enhance your experience.

Tips for your towel Fifi’s:

It took some trial and error to get these right, despite following the instructions perfectly. For both versions of this DIY Fleshlight, the first time, they wound up too tight. When I used a toothpaste tube for the second version, it was too thin and the canal was far too narrow. I recommend finding something about the same size as your penis to hold the canal open when making version number 2.

Folding the towel is more forgiving, but when I made it the first time the entrance was too small. I found that the tightness was determined by the size of the towel. If it’s too thick or too small, the opening will be small.

If you have problems getting the glove to stay in place, you can tie a string around the fingers and pull it through the rolled or folded towel for added support. I found that it was easier with the condom, but if you prefer gloves, this may come in handy.

DIY Towel Masturbator vs. Fleshlight

Considering how simple they are, both of the towel masturbators felt pretty good. After I got the tightness right on them, it was a pleasant squeeze to slip into them. The canal widens fairly quickly when it’s in use, but you can add more rubber bands or use your hands to control the tightness when you get further along.

The second version had a more uniform canal width and I enjoyed it more, although it was incredibly difficult to get the tightness on this one right. There is little give once you get it set up, and while setting it up, you have to be careful to get the width right.

As I have already mentioned, using a glove will limit how deep you can penetrate these DIY masturbators, unlike the full-sized Fleshlights, which allow for full penetration. It was also not as intense as Fleshlights because there is little to no texture with these DIY versions. The only texture that I found with these two was the texture of the towel pushing against the glove (or condom) which was too rough at times.

DIY Homemade Fleshlight #3: The Sock Method

This is similar to the previous method, but it’s easier to make because there is already a canal in a sock. It is also much easier to adjust the tightness when using the sock method. Similar to the towel method, this became popular among inmates who had to get creative with the little material they were presented with. This is also referred to as a “Fifi”.

Required Items:

Three pairs of socks (sports socks work best)

A latex glove (or XL condom)

2 rubber bands

Directions:

  1. Take two of the three pairs of socks and lay them stacked, side by side.
  2. Fold each pair of socks up from the toes and lay the fold underneath them.
  3. Lay your glove or condom on top of one of the pairs of socks with the opening sticking out about 1-2 inches.
  4. Place the second pair of socks on top of the glove or condom so that it is sandwiched between them.
  5. Wrap the end of the glove or condom around the ends of the socks.
  6. Use the third pair of socks to wrap around the middle of the sock-glove/condom sandwich. You can use the third pair of socks to adjust the tightness.
  7. Finally, secure the ends with rubber bands.

As with the previous two, this is enjoyed more with lube. Entering dry may be uncomfortable or even painful. I recommend a silicone lube for longevity.

Tips for your sock Fifi:

This homemade Fleshlight can be made with any socks of the right thickness, I prefer to use the mid-calf-high socks as they are best for wrapping the socks around the end for tightness. I found that moving the rubber bands to different places of the sleeve changed the tightness, and adding or removing rubber bands created different feelings. I removed the one closest to the opening to make it easier to enter.

DIY Homemade Fleshlight #4: Toilet Paper Roll Method

This is perhaps the simplest, quickest, and easiest masturbator on this entire list. You only need two items to make the toilet paper roll masturbator and controlling the tightness is incredibly simple.

Required Items:

A single roll of toilet paper

One latex glove or XL condom

Directions:

  1. Gently remove the tube from the roll of toilet paper by pulling and wiggling it until it comes free.
  2.  Push the glove or condom through the middle of the roll and pull the open end of the glove or condom around the edges of the roll.
  3. Lube up with your favorite lubricant and enjoy the ride!

Tips for your toilet paper roll masturbator:

As I said, this is an incredibly simple method and is great for when you’re in a pinch or have limited resources available. Adjusting the tightness of the canal with this method is as simple as removing toilet paper from the middle before inserting the glove and squeezing it when in use.

Homemade Fleshlight #5: Sponge Method

Don’t Forget to Lube up before using these toys TugBros!

If you already have a glove or condom and rubber bands on hand, this may be the only masturbator you’ll have to go shopping for. Even if you already have sponges in your kitchen, I recommend buying new ones and to feel for their softness, as this will heavily affect your experience.

Required Items:

An empty Pringles or Lays potato chip can (YUM, snacks!)

Between two and four kitchen sponges (make sure they are small enough to fit inside the can)

One latex glove or XL condom

Directions:

  1. If the can is one of the long ones, start by pushing two of the sponges all the way to the end of it. Bend them so they’ll curve with the sides of the can.
  2. Place the glove or condom between the two sponges that aren’t yet in the can
  3. Push the “sandwich” into the can, so that the sponges bend with the edges and sit on top of the first two sponges.
  4. Wrap the opening of the glove or condom around the end of the can.
  5. Lube up, I like to use warming lube and put some inside the glove/condom and enjoy.

Tips for your sponge masturbator:

I have found that a tall cup works just as well as a pringles can if you don’t have one or don’t want to go buy one. If you use a smaller can, you’ll only need one set of sponges, but you may not be able to fully penetrate a smaller can. The sponges should be soft and flexible, otherwise, it will be an incredibly unpleasant experience. The softer, the better, I found that cheap sponges from the Dollar General work best!

DIY Sponge Masturbator vs Fleshlight

The idea of using a leftover chip can with grease and salt didn’t sound overly appealing to me, I was worried about the coarseness of the salt and the grease having negative effects of my experience, so I thoroughly washed mine before testing out this DIY masturbator.

The sponge masturbator is okay, just okay. I experimented with a couple of brands of different sponges to find the one that worked best for me. The firmer ones don’t envelop my penis as I want, so I prefer the softer ones. But I recommend trying a few different brands to find some that fit your wants.

Like the other DIY homemade masturbators, this one had no texture and didn’t really compare to a Fleshlight. It’s great for a quick fix, but I wouldn’t keep it on hand for more than one or two uses. I am much too spoiled by Fleshlight.

Homemade Pocket Pussy #6: Party Balloon Method

The final DIY Fleshlight on my list is the balloon masturbator. It is the most unusual design I found and might require a shopping trip. Unless you keep party balloons on hand, though I do not.

Required Items:

One wide cup or container (I used one had a width of 5 inches)

Four small party balloons

Duct Tape

One latex glove or XL condom

Directions:

  1. Start by blowing a little air into the balloons and securing the ends. Be careful not to inflate the balloons too much, as all four need to be able to fit comfortably inside the container AND create a hole that your penis can fit into.
  2. Place each balloon in the container to check if they are inflated enough, replace the balloons with smaller ones if the hole in the middle is too tight.
  3. With duct tape secure each balloon to the edge of the container by the knots.
  4. The push the glove or condom through the center of the balloons and pull the opening around the edges of the cup or container.
  5. Generously lube up so you don’t create too much friction around the balloons, and enjoy.

Tips for your party balloon masturbator:

I had to replace one of my balloons because I had over-inflated it. This method takes some work and experimenting to get right, but it’s not bad. I also wound up tearing my first glove, so having an extra on hand isn’t a bad idea. The most difficult step was fitting the glove or condom around the edges of the container. I found that working with them beforehand and loosening up the cuff worked best in helping me get a good fit.

Homemade Masturbators VS Fleshlights

I was surprised to find that homemade masturbators were more pleasurable than I expected. I have to admit that before beginning this experiment, I was incredibly skeptical.

Having owned many Fleshlights in my life, I still haven’t found anything that comes as close to realism or provides as much pleasure as they do. While the ones listed here are great for what they are, they will never replace the Fleshlight on my bedside table.

I expected the DIY masturbators to be disappointing but was shocked to find that they were enjoyable and that some of the designs might actually be useful when I’m in a pinch. Everything I needed for these dirty DIY projects was either already in my home, or super cheap at my local grocery store.

I even enjoyed making each masturbator and found them a lot easier to construct than I thought they would be. Getting the right size with some of them took some work, but no more than I had already expected, and they are easy enough to repeat once you get it figured out.

My favorite was the Toilet Paper Roll Masturbator as it was the easiest to make and required very little material. I want to recreate this project with even more brands of toilet paper, just to see if I can find the absolute best for this project!

DIY sex toys and homemade masturbators can be a decent, temporary replacement for real Fleshlights. I wouldn’t use them on a long term basis, but they, shockingly, feel much better than I expected.

They aren’t anywhere near as close to the real thing, but they are a great and fun way to get a little more pleasure from your wank if you’re low on funds or don’t have a Fleshlight on you.

Get Your Own Genuine Fleshlight

While these are great substitutes, nothing truly measures up to a genuine Fleshlight.

Their Real Feel SuperSkin with numerous unique textures resulted in the number one bestseller of all male masturbators for good reason.

The material is soft and feels amazing when in use, the textures range from gentle to sheet-clenching intense, and the orifices are realistic.

If you have ever considered getting a Fleshlight, I cannot recommend them enough. The best place to buy a Fleshlight is straight from their official website.
